The Lufkin Chapter of Top Teens of America was organized in 1977. The Chapter's charter members were Dewey A. Williams (President), Loretta Williams, Robbie Toran, Vernon Mark, Ronald Ash and Sybrennia Lane. The newly formed Top Teens Chapter assisted the Lufkin Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction with all service projects. The TTA membership increased to fifteen (15) excited teens, and they attended their first Area One Conference in Beaumont, Texas and participated in their first Top Teens Talent Show. The Top Teens were most impressed with the exchange of ideas and leadership of the Area One Top Teens. After returning home, the Top Teens started a membership drive, and the Lufkin Chapter was well on its way to becoming the number one chapter in the nation. The Lufkin Chapter is proud to have had a membership as high as 125 members.
Our Lufkin Chapter Top Teens are really tops in service. From September 2023 to present, these hardworking, talented teens have served the Lufkin community in the following ways:

Presented seniors in the Southland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center with toiletries, puzzles, Word Find, and socks
Hosted for the J. D. Center of Hope Annual Tribute to First Ladies “The Queen in Me”
Served as candy runners at the City of Lufkin Annual Zoo Boo
